Coaching is an inspiring and exciting form of counseling.  It is an action-oriented process that helps people take steps towards achieving their goals and pursuing their interests.  Conversation is thought-provoking and  provocative in an attempt to discover what truly matters, while at the same time it is supportive and encouraging.

Coaching asks powerful questions of clients.  Clients are called upon to be reflective and self-examining.  Together the coach and client embark on an authentic journey of discovery and problem-solving as they explore possibilities and create plans.  Accountability is a key ingredient in taking action towards ones goals.  Coaching is frequently done on the phone, although it can take place in person in a conventional setting - office,  or a non-conventional setting - such as by the beach.

Coaching focuses on people’s strengths and aspirations,  rather than on weaknesses and problems.  Unlike therapy, it does not deal with the past nor the reasons why things are the way they are.  Rather, it’s present oriented and focuses on the How - how to move from point A to B; taking small steps towards one’s specific goals, with the ultimate goal of attaining fulfillment and satisfaction.
